Insane, Kids Crawl Under Trains to get to School

I don’t live far from there at all. It’s actually right next to the train everyone takes into Chicago. It’s about 5 minutes from the Chicago border and it’s absolutely crazy to see. It’s actually 2 different parts of the city. North Hammond & Hessville. In Hessville trains will sit for 10 hours.

The mayor of that city took them to court and lost. He instructed the police to ticket them for sitting. The railroad dug up a 100 year old law saying they didn’t have to pay the fines.


The city between mine and Hammond spent almost a billion dollars on developing a new part of the city and the biggest project was building a underpass so the train wouldn’t be a problem.


Before I would be sitting in the expressway for 10 minutes to exit. Then it would take me another 35 to drive what should be 7 minutes.

The city in the video is building a bridge . The bridge is in the Hessville neighborhood right next to a new subdivision full of cops


The city is also building a new train hub and extending the passenger rail everyone uses to get in and out of Chicago.

Norfolk Southern is one of the companies at the center of this. The same company that spilled all that toxic waste in Ohio not long ago and the same company that justified the labor cuts which lead to super long trains and other "efficiency" measures.

With that said, every crossing has an emergency number you can call in situations like this. They HAVE TO cut or move the train but if no one complains they are not in a hurry to get going.

This has already been settled by the Indiana courts. The fines and the number mean nothing. They’ve already taken them to court and lost.

Thank god the city offers free bussing to all public schools.

I assumed that it was going to be a foreign country
