Wait, you think the new spider-man game is heavily scripted movie game but love Sunset Overdrive?

Sunset Overdrive is one of my hidden gems of all time and an amazing superhero game. Spider-Man is an almost refined version of that game, especially with the movement across the city.

You owe it to yourself to play Spider-Man if you liked SO at all.

The entire reason insomniac wanted to make sunset overdrive was because they wanted to own their own IP.


Sony doesn’t do that anymore because thy know the value of IP and have seen games go to other platforms because they didn’t lock it down.


Insomniac obviously was tired of creating shyt like ratchet and clank and not having control of it.

Microsoft allowed them to own the IP. It was a win/win for both parties. Insomniac gets to own their IP and Microsoft pries away a Sony faithful dev.

The game didn’t sell well enough though.
