Like I said in that other thread- those dudes hadn't even listened to the track when they were complimenting it.... :pachaha:

It really did sound like the PC answer. Like Cappadonna pulled his cab up whereever Drake was staying that week in some hopes that he would call him to do a song.

I have no problem with Decks statement. But Deck is only 1 voice out of the crew. Cap & Rae also spoke on it. You guys need to stop living thru rappers.
:rudy:

You are a lame they all have different opinions. nobody is living thru rappers but your stupid ass:umad:

:pachaha: This culture is so fukking ignorant and stupid you can't even make conceptual allusions without inciting fake outrage

WU Tang forever is not a cultural allusion, its a direct reference to another legendary rap group, and with such a reference comes natural expectations for the song. All deck said was that the song that directly referenced HIS group, was a poor attempt and he didnt like it. He didnt od on drake, just said he didnt appreciate the effort. Why does any non-dikkriding opinion send people into a tizzy fit nowadays?

:skip: Implying I'm talking about the Rebel INS.

I never said it was a cultural allusion, whatever that's supposed to mean in this context, but the whole song is playing on the concept of the phrase "It's yourz"

This shyt isn't that deep. He sampled a song called "It's Yourz" off of an album called Wu Tang Forever and throughout the song he's playing on the phrase "It's Yourz"

At first he's talking about how he's fukking a girl—her p*ssy is his and his alone—"It's Yourz", she tells him.

Then he's talking about the rap game—"It's Yourz."— people are telling Drake he's on top of the game, it's yours.

Then he starts his verse in the middle of the song that is a direct allusion to Rae's verse: "Machine gun rap for all my nikkas in the back" off of the same song, "It's Yourz" off of the same album, Wu Tang Forever.

THen he says a phrase later in the song, "Young nikka on his Wu Tang"

I'm assuming he means that he's changing or on top of the rap game to a similar level that the Wu Tang clan were; they were an iconic dominant force in hip-hop.

And assuming just because someone titles a song a certain way that it means it has to sound a certain way is just lazy and stupid on the part of whoever thinks that way.

I'm not trying to make this song into some artistic work of genius, but the fact such a simple concept is pissing people off leads me to believe people seriously didn't listen to it, or they're miserably hating for no reason other than they can.

Lets not play obtuse here....titling the song "WU TANG Forever", is provocative, and sets high hopes for the sound, and quality of the record. Insult people all you want as a defense mechanism for your boy (one could argue naming the song "wu tang forever" was lazy), but thinking that the track would at least be a strong homage to the WU tang sound, isnt an unreasonable expectation. Interpolating a wu tang beat, and making a reference or two to WU Tang, directly and indirectly throughout a by-the-numbers drake simp track is disappointing to many heads --- myself included. Drake wanted the attention that the title would bring (why not name it something else), but not the expectations. Obviously the track was satisfactory to you. Thats your prerogative. Again, I dont understand why dissent is such an offensive position.

:pachaha: who am I insulting though? I'm not talking about you directly but if you feel some type of way, then by all means, wear that shoe, b.

:stopitslime: The fukk? Hunger Games isn't about people struggling with obesity?

:dahell: Yo I bought this book called The Hunt For Red October and shyt ain't about killing deer, it's about a boat or some shyt. :why:

I'm just fukking with you somewhat, but come on b, a title of a creative work means nothing. That's on you if you make all those implications. I don't think the title of the song is remotely provocative at all though. He did the same shyt on Take Care naming one of the tracks Underground Kings.

This isn't a simp track by any means either, but again, that's my point, people just saying shyt to say it. There's nothing wrong with not liking the song, but I just think it's funny that he's bigging up a group a lot of his fanbase wouldn't otherwise be familiar with and they're hating on him for it.

Do you god.
