99% of the people clowning would never buy anything from him at any price point anyway. So even if the slides were $40 it would be:
"I ain't buying no $40 slides from him

"
At $30 bucks
"The fukk I look like paying $30 for slides from this nikka

"
You could lower it to $5 for the exact same product and it would be
"Look at those cheap ass slides that fall apart as soon as you put them on

"
You could GIVE them to them for free and their response would transform to
"I ain't wearing nothing that says savage on it

"
So there is no winning with 99% of the people, so his price point isn't targeted towards those at all. In fact you hope those people get weeded out when you set the price so that you only attract people that WOULD wear something that says savage on it in the first place. And there is a target demographic that wouldn't be ashamed of wearing "savage" clothing and has disposable income....white boys. Specifically the same white boys that go to shows, and are eager to buy merchandise.
Once you got that steady demographic following you, mark the shyt up out of your product, put the shyt on instagram and twitter, and enjoy the profits while ignoring the riff raff. You probably won't sell a shyt ton of it, but you'll likely profit off the investment.
It's weird how it works like that but it does. The same way we roll our eyes at black people going crazy over "exotic" white people shyt, the same effect can happen on white people that desperately desire to sport some black people shyt.
