Lashley pressing on the X division was a shyt storyline, his idea is the beginning of a shyt storyline, and Corbin beating up Kendrick & Kalisto was a shyt storyline. Conor McGregor fights between 155 and 170. He fights people his size, and his ppvs break UFC records. Floyd Mayweather fought at 147 for a decade and ran things just like he did at 135 and 140. All guys his own size, those fights occured in his own universe. Some heavyweight no one gives a fukk about like Klitchsko comes in and presses Floyd and Manny. Whoopdeedo, right? The cruisers are already on an uphill battle with fans considering them inferior, why kill off something that can make you long term $?

The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
I'm shocked at how little he's done as a face. Granted, I don't watch weekly so I can't pin point specifically as to why that is the case, but I thought that at the very least dude would get good reactions on his matches considering crowds like his highflying moves. But every time I watch him he seems to be even less over than when he was a horrible heel in 2014 an 2015.

I made the same mistake with John Morrison. I never was a fan but I thought he could get over considering he always wrestled as a face when he was a heel and the crowd popped for his moves. Then he turned and people could give less of a fukk about the guy :mjlol:

He should have come back as a face and had this whole comeback for the title like they did on 24.

Instead they turn him heel only to beat reigns clean anyways and do the triple h attack costing him the title and never really elaborated on it... we still haven't heard from triple h and this was in august!!!!

Anyways, he never had a chance.

Viewing it from Landis's perspective (creating stories, situations, and slowly weaving together points) is extremely interesting. I feel like a lot of times smarks get drawn into the who got over debate or micro level things instead of noticing the macro level story

Landis has some really interesting ideas on storytelling. If they were to try and change their presentation, he could probably give them some solid ideas that originate sometime after 1984.

Vince's larger stories are really flimsy though. For a show that has 20 years of back story to build on, most Raw's feel like he wrote them like he was doing homework on the bus he forgot to do the night before.

When you compare them to some of the intricate nuanced storylines you get in other shows, you realize just how washed he is.

But they're seeing the numbers they want, so nothing will change. :yeshrug:

The problem is Vince only books week to week and then changes his mind anyway. There's zero possibility for long term planning.
