Internet forums are disappearing because now it's all Reddit and Discord. And that is worrying

Their platform is literally nothing with out the content creation of the various users. Reddit is essentially a very larger folder system with stack ranking and fsvoriting.

By forcing your content creators to pay to either view or write their contributions it becomes a double tax. We get hit by adds and hit by a paywall fee for the stuff we create.

Reddit sells our data and throws us adds. That's their revenue forcing their own content providers to pay a fee is horrible business sense

well the absentee owner of TheColi needs to open registration

nevermind the trolls and anti-Black racist, they will inevitably going to get banned anyway.

But registration needs to be reopen for fresh takes, and younger newbies could add new perspectives and opinions

Yeah, Reddit is becoming redundant in some parts of the site but it still has a lot more variety of topics to joke about than some other places.

Only thing I’d say that was really generated by AI on that site are the topics within sections of the site, responses are still worth examining as they have some funny ones.

I never really fukked with reddit heavy as I always found its topics on mainstream or conventional topics (politics, music, relations) etc were always trash but it does have some good tid bits on niche topics and stuff like that.

A little surprised that so many have said they wouldn't join another forum if this one shut down for good

though... I kind of understand.

But anyway it reminded me of this thread, which at the time reminded me of something I read a long time ago:
