I was offered an internship with a large tennis club today and I noticed that a 3.5 GPA is a minimum requirement for the internship. My GPA is currently 3.2. Now I already have the offer and all the paperwork for the job and background check. Do you think I should speak to the GM about my GPA before I give him the information or should I just wait and see how the background check goes.

No but the information said that a background check includes speaking to the school so I don't know if the school is allowed to release that type of information.

If you would can reasonably deny knowing the gpa requirment, I see no need to say anything.

There's no way the school is going to release that information directly to them. And If they haven't asked you for a transcript by now, then I doubt they're going to. Have you given them any sort of proof that you're actually a student?

Yeah I have to get this paper signed with the school but no GPA questions. Like I legit called this dude after I applied on an external site. He then gave me his email and told me to send the cover letter and resume directly to his email. After that the gave me an offer and sent me all of the information that I need to sign to start the internship. I'm pretty good friends with everyone at the career resource center so I believe if I get them to sign off on it I will be good to go.

I'd bet good money that no one will ever ask about your GPA. Don't worry about it.

Don't say shyt. And the school can't release even release your transcript to your parents w/o your permission, so yeah they def can't get it from the school. And also if they wanted your transcript they would tell you to get it and mail them a copy.

I wouldn't say anything, they can't blame you if they failed to request/check your transcript.

It probably won't even come up, but if it does, just say you weren't aware of the GPA requirement.
