I did a paper on this breh , some of the research suggested that with age there's a shift in personality ....one of the underlying factors being greater financial security...

I can see it with age but also with responsibilities. When you have to reprimand employees, host a conference call with 40+ people or get reamed by a high-level executive, the small shyt doesn't phase you like it would have before. .

I will give you my perspective as an introvert.
First off let me congratulate you on making it to a leadership position. You don't get there unless someone recognizes certain skills that you excel at. Curious, how long you been in a leadership position? Experience takes you out of the introvert role. Eventually you have to grow out of that introversion cause people will mistake that for timidness or weakness. With experience you learn that you have to look someone in the face and professionally get in they ass. When dealing with superiors they expect you to hold your ground whatever decision you make. The more correct decisions you make the more comfortable you are coming out of your shell. If you know your shyt cold don't hesitate to let people know, but not in a show off manner.

Many CEOs/Founders are introverts. Mark Zuckerberg created a damn social media site, but he isn't exactly the life of the party.

Being a leader doesn't mean you have to be loud and gregarious. You simply have to solve problems. Be efficient.

If you have trouble doing that, you need to work on it.

All of this has absolutely nothing to do with coping in a leadership position as a introvert.

Thanks, it's only been 3 weeks. I will always be introverted, that's just who I am.

I remember months ago I was approached for a promotion then I didn't hear anything about it for about 2 months. 2 months later I was promoted which was a big surprise. I've always been honest with everyone at work telling them I don't I just always did what I was told to the best of my ability and stayed under the radar. Promotions are very real within my company and they happen super quick for some people. Employee's see this so you start seeing alot of people throwing others under the bus, brown nosing, ass kissing, and showing out trying to be recognized to reach the top.

When I was promoted, I could see and feel the disgust amongst so many employee's. I don't blame them, I never volunteered to work over time, holidays, went out for drinks after work with coworkers, rubbed elbows with superiors or had some genius idea that would help the company. lol I remember when their was a company party, I was the only person of 300 who stayed in the office while everyone else went out to party.

Anyway my problem is going from having a low key position where I was never bothered, had a smooth shift and went home with no worries, work never being on my mind to being that dude where the spotlight is constantly shown on him, people paying close attention to what I'm doing and talking shyt behind my back, mad dumb ass questions, tattle telling, etc now I go home where work basically consumes my life and it's always on my mind.

I actually feel like I'm being punished. It's like they went hey, this guy looks like he's too happy here, lets make his life hard lol

My biggest thorn in my back is this overbearing employee I have work with 2 days a week who's been recently promoted to my position. He's a really smart guy and knows the company inside and out like the back of his hand but he's also one of those cats who feels himself too much, likes hearing himself speak and loves being the center of attention. This dude loves to tell people "I have your back, I'm always looking out for your best interest and will help you guys anyway I can" but sits on his fat ass the whole shift not lifting a finger but dictating tasks to others he should be doing.

This dude loves to name drop superior names and quick to throw people under the bus like second nature. This dude always be in my personal space or bugging me about his dumb ass thoughts and opinions running his fat ass mouth while I just reply back dryly "cool, sounds good, alright" with no eye contact. He'll even sit there while running his fat ass mouth "I know I'm annoying, you don't have act like you listening blah blah blah" and I think to myself "so why the fukk do you keep on talking!?" This dude thinks he's so smart and clever with the mind games but little does he know, I very much enjoy such games and will make him look really bad in front of everyone.

My position consists of me constantly monitoring employee's and staying in contact with them so it's really hard for me to get some me time to decompress. If I'm not monitoring, I'm doing something else useful of my time to benefit the company.

LOL That's funny because I know that's part of the glamour of management positions to a lot of people but I hate that mentality and it's never been me.
