Just overall what we can do with video and audio now, creating it from scratch out of pixels, sine waves, etc. (basically a stream of 0's and 1's) is really insane.

Video games. When you really think about it, that shyt is crazy. It's like the peak culmination of interactive entertainment and tech (art, music, interactivity, etc.). It moves with the times too as you can pack modern code and hardware on it.

Similarly FL Studio and other music making software is :mindblown: when you consider what people had to do before to get music going. It's practically a full-on studio inside a laptop. Using things like convolution reverb people can literally mimic the sounds make in some kind of environment. Although now they also make it so a lot more music goes through which leads to things getting stale faster and in big numbers.

Transistors on microchips as well :wow: that's where so much happens.

its crazy how much tech has changed in my lifetime. at one point was i using a boombox for music. then a Walkman, then a portable cd player, then a ipod, to now i can just stream all the music i want on my phone. 4 generations of audio devices just went by in a short span of time.

i think my parents basically just had vinyl for most of their youth by comparison.

Cassette tapes and recording the radio
Indoor plumbing with faucets and toilet. I grew up with out plumbing.

Whoa. Where are you from?

I honestly can't imagine this. I had a brief period in my life where I moved into a place that construction wasn't fully done on. I had running water but the toilet didn't work. So I would have to fill up a bucket with water to flush the toilet. I can't imagine not having running water tho.

Oh and what we can do with electromagnetic waves and radio waves.

We're sending signals back and forth using zero electrical current :mindblown:

The fact that we're sending signals back from the edge of our solar system to a very specific location is also insane.

It's also not so much a marvel at mankind's inventiveness though as much as it is a marvel at what is possible.

Imagine it for peeps born in the 20s (how many are even left?)...they done seen the transformation in crazier ways

But as am 80s/90s kid...watching tech evolve has been cool in its own right.
