Whats so funny? The USA doesn't want to lose leverage to Asia and China.

China has more smartphone leverage in Africa than Apple does right now. Apple is still a first world product.

Chinese smartphones give big boost to Africa's digital economy

Europe might have smarter regulation but if people won't comply, like china or Japan or Korea, then they'll just ignore what Europe's demands are and focus on developing economies.

Its one thing for the USA to take China to the WTO arbitration court... but Europe doesn't produce smartphones so...China could just ignore them even easier:

would the EU simply not ban sales .. (and possibly use on networks)?

samsung has the biggest market share (for example).

would they risk losing that?

Again, Europe has no products of their own at the moment. Nokia and Ericsson is dead and gone, etc. Theres nothing. So, yeah you can tell these companies to fukk off and they'll...just ignore you.

Thats what Asia is doing with the EV market.

Miles apart: U.S. and Europe diverge on Chinese EVs

You're trying to wrap nationalism into caping for Apple's shytty anti consumer antics, as if there aren't American phone manufacturers that use Android OS. It's bizarre and very stupid but that is on brand for the product your call center puts out.

The EU is really the only government entity really even trying to look out for consumers. The US is 100% about corporate profit and nothing else.

I don’t even use my port on this phone anymore, I use those mag chargers and like it a lot better anyway.
EU banned a lot of chemicals and other from here that the U.S use in food and medicine

The iphone's USB will be limited to 23 year old speed, too.

The EU forced them to used USB-C

Apple will ditch the Lightning connector on its iPhones, the company has confirmed, after European regulators decided all smartphones should have USB charging as standard in two years' time. New EU rules require all phones sold after autumn 2024 to use the USB-C connector for their charging ports. Oct 26, 2022

At least someone has some common sense.
