Yeah, that's true but there are real-life instances of people suing for small sums and getting paid just because it's cheaper for the party they are suing to cut them a check than for them to put their lawyers to work.
I remember there was a sitcom episode, I want to say Married With Children where the characters thought they could launch an unchallenged small claim and it blew up on them when a corporate lawyer actually showed up.
