I called it right on point. Wish this board was more active :francis: we just had an ipo do 90% in a day and no comments on it. Dont miss out on slack next week though
I had some spare change in my Chase brokerage account and I used all of it to buy Fiverr. It was only enough to get 6 shares. I don't plan on keeping it. After the transaction settles Tuesday I'll see where the stock is at and probably sell it for whatever I can get unless it goes on a crazy run. I'll move the proceeds over to my SoFi account and buy partial shares of either Google or VOO.

I didn't pull the trigger on fiverr yesterday. Its the equivalent of passing up an open the open shot in a big game, i thought it would dip to $22 while i was watching it at $26 the profit far outways the couple of dollars a share i was trying to save. I did the same thing with SOLY last week it went from $5 to $13 and i waited for a dip only for it to go to $29. I always try to play it safe and wait for a dip bit I can now see ways to improve. Im making a big bet on slack next week. Its the most anticipated ipo of the year

Is opening day the best time to buy IPO stock?
Absolutely not, you would want to trade the first day though. Ipo sticks dont usually do good first day or even first couple of months and the rare ones that do dont hold gains until they test the ipo price again.

Whats been happening recently is rare because we have so many anticipated ipo's this year thats the new craze right now. But you can look at 90% of charts most dont do good in the beginning and when they do, they lose gains shortly after. So if you do buy on ipo day you should take gains within the week

Absolutely not. 99% of companies DO NOT hit the ground running. Don't believe the hype.

People will point to a beyond meat because it took off like a rocket but that's only because Wall Street doesn't even understand the fake meat industry at all and just rode the hype. Look at the numbers for IPOs that dropped all year and see the real story.

How do I get in that slack ipo?
Slack is doing a direct listing not (ipo) meaning they dont have banks or underwriters and it'll come out at a price that'll be determined shortly before it come out. the stock will be available on 6/20 around 11

If y'all going to come in here and claim a IPO that takes off like a rocket then man up and claim it when it falls back to earth. Don't just say "this IPO is dropping on this day" and expect people to throw money at it. Do your research and explain why it's worth the money. Don't just sell a brand name.

Fiverr was bound to drop because of two very important things. They do the same thing as upwork but make less money than them and and they have no real plans for the money from going public.
