go into a gym and tell people lifting weights actually makes them weaker [immediately after].
hormesis
a drink and a loud, long burp might do some good for you. I haven't had one in a few years, but if I'm around people who are I will. I follow a school of thought that says non-debilitating doses of alcohol can be beneficial after some mind training and insight, but Buddhism is actually based on personal experience and not projecting our fears and worldview on to others like the Abrahamic religions. All point to the heart though if you can see through the BS, good luck with that
You clearly have no medical background.
TY for your input.
I don't feel as though there is progress to be made with arguement or further explanation... but I'll tell you something interesting, because it may reach you in a way that rebuking you never will.
A long while ago, I was told by a friend of mine that was studying to be a nutritionist that the reason vitamins are known by letters is because people are stupid. When you get a headache, its most likely do to one of two things. An excess (your body has too much of something) or a deficiency (too little of something).
Usually its a vitamin.
He told me that in passing and I remembered it.
So one day when I got a headache I called him. He told me to take a blank sheet of paper and walk outside into the sunlight, look at the sheet the paper.
It hurt like fk and my headache intensified.
He told me light sensitivity (exasperated by the color white) is do to a lack of retinol.
I said Retinol... like Retina? As in the eye?
He said yes.
I said where do I get Retinol...
He said Retinol is Vitamin A.
I'll pause here for a second because there are many ways to take this story.
I had no idea I needed Vitamin A.
But I knew my eyes hurt... and I knew the retina is apart of the eye. And I knew retinol most likely portained to the retina.
I also knew that vitamins were not named A B C, etc.. thats only for the moronic public. I knew that cause he told me, weeks before.
I even knew to call him..
BUT
Despite knowing all that, I never took the initiative to lok up the names of Vitamins myself despite having the breadcrumbs right there in front of me.
Somnetimes you have alot of pieces of information and cannot piece them together coherently.
You know that poisons exist and what they do to the body.
You know that alcohol is poisonous. In fact, the leve of poison must be stated on the bottle (its called the proof with liquors) and the state regulates tat it may not excede a certain proof (toxicity level) because it will kill you.
But despite knowing these things... you have not pieced together that it should not be consumed.
