im sure we'll be able to add news articles at some point, when most of america is disappointed with this :dead: but im curious how the tax cut went for everyone in here, just on an anecdotal basis

i made about 4 grand more this year. my 'return' went down 50 bucks, but turbo tax said the government took 5200 last year, and 4600 this year. which indicates a slight boost for me :ehh:

anyone else file yet? surprise? :ehh: disappointment? :scusthov:

I paid about 2K less this year than I did last year. My refund was 1/2 of last years. The extra 175 I took home per month makes up for the smaller refund. So it was a small benefit for me.

But there are a ton of people who don’t understand how taxes work, and are going to be pissed when their checks are smaller.

I think my wife and I owe about $100 but our tax burden was between $3000-$4000 less than the previous year, I don't have the exact numbers in front of be. But I owe because I try and set my taxes up to break even, I rather get more every paycheck than the lump sum and fukk giving the govt an interest free loan

Thought it would be common sense that returns would be lower.

Less taxes being held from checks = govt owing less at tax season.

This says more about the public than anything else
