Feds don't even try a case unless they think they can win. They were obviously getting some type of info that led them to believe they could convict them..

Didn't help that 50 was running around telling everyone that Preme waa extorting murder inc and protecting them for financial gain.

That’s a myth too…Feds aren’t that masterful…they love that rep tho because it scares people into taking the deal, which is why the % of people who actually go to trial with the Feds is so tiny…that’s the only reason the conviction rate is so high.

Most innocent people who get convicted have something strong enough in the mix to convince jurors they did it…They had nothing at all on Irv and them in regard to what they were coming at them with, they weren’t going to jail unless they took the deal…which is why they didn’t.

And again…they couldn’t have easily settled anything by just giving up Supreme…which in turn would have ruin them in every way on every level. They had to go trial really, no other choice

I feel the same way.. Dude is entertaining while not making stories up.. Sidenote that story Nore got from Alchemist about Large Pro at the Raekwon show is some of the funniest stuff I've ever heard in life lol

KRS was on the phone with Nas for like 2 hours talking about Hip Hop On Mars and a bunch of other shyt and the call disconnected and KRS tried to call him back but Nas wouldn’t answer. Nas called him back like the next day apologizing and saying the convo got too deep for him to handle lol

Irv Gotti was the only one to publicly support Nas while he was battling Jay-Z and Roc-A-Fella. Remember Nas REALLY felt some sort of way when Hot 97 wouldn’t let him lynch that Jay-Z robot at Summer Jam and after he went crazy on them during the infamous Power 105 interview, the station soft blackballed him. Irv came along at this point and was saying he had Nas back and Ja Rule was saying the same thing. Basically Irv came along at a point where Nas felt he needed allies and Irv said at this point that Ja was too big for the streets but street nikkas worshipped Nas so signing Nas would be a way for Murda Inc to keep their street credibility

After Nas saw that Irv was a fukking clown he cooled on the association and decided not to sign with them and re-up with Columbia.

I wish Allhiphop would have kept they’re archive of interviews, they had some GREAT interviews with Nas, Jay-Z, Beanie Sigel, The Bravehearts ( the infamous “Soul Clap” interview) 50 Cent, Cam’ron, etc around 01-03 that shed some real insight onto the time period.

IRV is the type of person to be in HIS OWN WAY. This mf did everything right until he started feeling himself. That's basically the downfall of all these "marketing geniuses"/CEOs. They get a lil success, then they elevate that, triple it and they're on top of the world. But when THAT HAPPENS, it's like their brain automatically goes on self destruction mode. (Who knows the psychology behind that where you self destruct at the top but that's a different topic). The f* was he thinking about going to the hood and pulling those shennanigans thinking the streets would respect him for those clown actions?? and what's mind boggling is that you'd give him the benefit of being young, but this mf DOUBLED DOWN and has the audacity of saying "Nas f***ed up and ditched him" like breh, do you hear yourself?? Irv comes across as a good guy to me.
He's very loyal in the sense that he expects people to ride for him the same way he rides for them.

That's not the case most times in life (ive learned that well) and that often leads to fall outs with people. He takes any form of betrayal to heart.


Also in his 50 years of life, i dont think anyone has ever put hands on him lol that's how he comes across atleast. And when you mix that with preme, jay-z, dmx etc and other respected street dudes coming to him for help and taking a liking to him, it makes him feel like he's a tough guy when he's probably not.

That was a Brooklyn Eastern District case, right? They overreached. But it was still lucky.

edit: yeah he hired Gerald Shargel who was one of the real Gotti's lawyers, when he was still good

and it was a really narrow case, it was tied to a bigger more serious indictment of Supreme and his guys

it involved checks and a personal account for 281,000 and the funding of Crime Partners, a terrible movie from 2003 with Ja Rule and Pras, or was that Turn It Up. both bad.
