What does Drake have to gain from fukkin with Irv? He already the biggest star in the game and always makes smart moves so looks like he has a good team behind him already.

Irv did break some stars a decade a go. A decade. Where are they all now?

Jay-Z is one of the richest dudes in rap music, and widely considered the greatest to ever do it.

DMX self destructed, but he sold about 15 million albums in four years for the label.

Ja Rule had three straight multiplatinum albums.

Who does Drake him behind him as far as his team? Those oVo kids he grew up with? Those are charity gigs for him. Cortez Bryant? The same guy affiliated with his label? The Hip Hop since 1978 dudes? The ones who also manage Jeezy and 'Ye and Wayne (meaning, how much attention can they give him?)

Jay was gon be big no matter what. and X was always gon have a run and then self destruct. Irv isn't responsible for who they became, at all.

Where is Ja now? He had a short run.

Irv is a talented dude no doubt but he ain't gon do shyt this time round.

I don't know Drakes team but they clearly making good moves. What can Irv do for Drake that Drake ain't doin now? Nothin

We say that now. Let's recall that Jay-Z couldn't get a record deal in 1995. No one would sign him. Irv (and Clark Kent) were telling everyone who would listen that he's the best rapper in the world.

It's easy to look back at Jay's career now and say "well yeah, that was obvious" but fam, it wasn't.

. and X was always gon have a run and then self destruct. Irv isn't responsible for who they became, at all.

DMX had BEEN signed and was dropped. When Irv brought Lyor to Yonkers to watch him spit, DMX was not a hot commodity.

He didn't make them, nor is he solely responsible, but his eye for talent cannot be denied.

Where is Ja now? He had a short run.

That's the music business though. They rode the gravy train until it ran out of gas.

I don't know Drakes team but they clearly making good moves. What can Irv do for Drake that Drake ain't doin now? Nothin

Help him set up his label?

Kanye fooled people with some of the credit he took on WTT beats.

Can't see us agreein here but I respect your opinion. You know your hip hop even if we don't see eye to eye on this one.

It always baffles me when people just discount the achievements of Irv Gotti. That man was a serious game changer in hip hop. Irv played a huge part in making Def Jam the monster it was in the late 90's - early 2000's. He's one of the games GOAT talent scouts and liaisons. Drake and 'Ye working with Irv and Lyor could be quite beneficial for all parties involved.

Yeah, Irv was the catalyst that had Def Jam moving crazy units from X first album to Ja and J.Lo massive collaboration.

And, I'm no fool, Stewart and Light offing themselves has  blood written all over it.
