Irv was one of the smartest/talented execs in Hip Hop to date. He not only had an eye for talent but he had an incredible ear for music. Did you nikkas forget he was one of the creative masterminds behind Reasonable Doubt?

every dog has his day, irv is washed, times are different, you have to move different
you can use business tactics from two decades ago now, people fall off when they don't adapt to the times
and pick up new tactics, network in different circles

so you telling the music industry is the same as it was in the 90's
players change in every industry as time progressing except for the few
that manage to adapt with the times

yes. the tactics are the same. the only changes are the platforms. the framework of making money in the industry has changed. an exec like Irv would be perfect in this climate because he already knows how to navigate. half the battle of making it in the industry is knowing who's who. when you've been around the block enough you can hedge against the bullshyt because you already know who's predicted to do what. the faces at the networking events get recycled every few years, but the ones who control the machine are well known and well in place to those who have survived. that's why Irv is a great choice. he's not washed, he's just survived the weather. those types can teach others on their team to control the climate.

yeah, we could use him again but the industry ain't havin' that shyt
just like fifty a couple of years later, irv talked himself out of favor with the music industry. just like fifty thought he was bigger than jimmy iovine, irv thought he was bigger than lyor cohen. and both of them made it known. you can't badmouth your superiors in public and not expect to get blackballed :manny:
