Anywhere in can got to find out exactly how a Roth ira works ?
Pretty much it's all post tax money youre putting into it for retirement. Any money that grows in it isn't taxed when you withdraw at the specified age.

I recommend betterment because they choose the etfs for you and you don't have to waste time trying to do it yourself.

I find it hilarious how financial stuff seems complicated on the surface with all these terminologies and jargons: ETFs, Roth IRA, CDs, compound interest, dividend yield, index funds, etc. It's almost like they're DELIBERATELY trying to discourage the average person from investing. I've tried researching in the past but shyt just gets confusing to me.

If not, What's a good thing to invest that in? Someone with no experience.

The answer to this question depends on what you are buying and what you are selling. What is your business and how do you expect to get cash flow and make enough revenue to stay in business?

Suppose you're buying beer from a local microbrewery in bulk and at a reduced price, you spend 800$ on your product itself. Is 200$ leftover enough to package and deliver that product to your client, a liquor store? Probably not. But say , after buying the microbrewery product, you spend $500 instead of $200 on packaging (you use cardboard boxes) and delivery (you pay some immigrant to deliver all the stuff for $300). You have now spent $1300 instead of $1000, but if you went even cheaper with buying the product, packaging it and delivering it, you could definitely invest $1000 and make some money. You could then maybe use revenue to continue the business.

So the answer to your question depends on the business and what your needs are. But you can always start small with 1000$ and test the market before investing more into the idea. It's like selling drugs. You spend 1000$ for a high margin product (heroin for example) that you think you can sell for much more $$$.
