It won't work dawg.Depending on who this is marketed too I see this having a chance
in the 90s most of that stuff was blurred out and songs were heavily edited. A song like Pop Smoke's Dior woulda had to get reshot or they wouldn't be able to air it til Uncut. They were videos with dudes with 100 guns in the 90s
*waiting on pix of frees big ol booty*
They tried rebooting TRL few years ago and was a total failure
Because that’s when it always came on, when kids came back from school and artists would do press runs during the day.Part of that is because they put it at 3 in the afternoon

What if it was a YouTube show? That was once a week and it was uncensored. Idkin the 90s most of that stuff was blurred out and songs were heavily edited. A song like Pop Smoke's Dior woulda had to get reshot or they wouldn't be able to air it til Uncut.
Now you can drop all that shyt uncensored on YouTube and rack up them views and streams.
The shows we grew up on (106 & Park, TRL, Soul Train, even going back to stuff like Club MTV, the Grind, American Bandstand /Top of the Pops for the super washed), those shows don't have the usefulness that they used to have because we consume that stuff differently.
For the most part, we don't see artists on these crazy promo runs because they just throw the album out there now and use social media to spread the word.
You make excellent points especially 2 & 3. These artists are introverted weirdos with no charisma or media training. In fact it’s cool to be the introvert now. Most of these guys would give terrible interviews.No.
1. Videos are not “exclusive” anymore. Can watch it on YouTube
2. Artists have no mystique.. we use to only get to see them on Rap City, 106 and TRL…. We can just go on their IG now
3. Lack of star power in todays music
4. Nobody watches TV anymore unless it’s Sports
She’s in her mid 50s now, full on auntie booty and not in a good way
I'll rather have Rap city where artists freestyling and giving interviews, but 106 was a fun show.
