Just like the way 2003 was the complete beginning of the 2000s rap and 1992 was the complete beginning of the 90sz

So far we have an idea of what the rest of this decade is going to be like, but it's been pretty clear that the 2000s still have an influence as of right now to a good extent but its starting to fade with the emergence with guys like Wiz, Cole, Sean, Drake, Kendrick, and ASAP. I think for some reason the last bit of the 00s remains will disappear sometime in 2013. I can feel it somehow, especially with the shyt that came out in the last 2 months.

If you were to compare today to the hip hop back in 07-09 for example, how muh do you think has changed?

All peaked in the 00s and are falling off something awful.

I can see the 10s to be heavily drug usage, abstract and 3 in the morning type of lo-fi rap. imo.

No. the scene in 09 was nothing like it was in 03, rap trends are far more frequent.

Wiz, Cole, Sean, Drake, Kendrick, and ASAP

^ half these dudes came out 2-3 years ago.

i think alot of these dudes are gonna have shorter lifespans than nikkas like TI, 50, weezy, yeezy etc. cuz of the "microwave" style of trend hopping rap been goin thru the past few years

in my opinion, more trends have started and died in the past two years than during the 5 year span from 03-08 (the transition from nikkas like fif to nikkas like drake)

:yeshrug: internet adhd i suppose

I think you might be downplaying how many trends were huge between 03 and 08. Let's not forget crunk, hyphy, "rockstar", screw music, Texas music, autotune or the Timbaland craze of 04-07.

:wtf: 04?

:weezy: he had the radio on smash a lil longer then that breh

crunk transformed into that lex luger sound so i dont really feel like it ended

rockstar nikkas just turned in those metallica t-shirts for plaid button ups and supreme hoodies

nikkas still screw a shytload of sounds

hyphy the only one that truly died off imo :yeshrug:

This is true for most genres. 60s rock didnt take off until 63/64, same with 70s rock. 80s house and electronic music didnt take off until 83/84 and so on.

Didn't Eminem's last album just sell 3,000,000?

When did he "fade away"

He on that Jay-Z status: yeah, they can sell records from their hardcore fanbases, but they looked at as them old rich rappers in the club, all out of place and looking awkward.
