Im currently conflicted brehs/brehettes.

I recently graduated from college and just started my career this week.

According to my parents, other family members, and my best friends I should take a year off for myself and explore the world, party, and live life to the fullest. They feel that since i completed one of my long term goals that I shouldnt join the work force just yet.

I already got a job in my field and I like it so far...i do miss going out partying, clubbing, bar hopping and road trips etc at random with my friends but I just want to be able to move out and be on my own right now. I knew that the minute i started my career that my care free lifestyle was going to have to come to an end but im conflicted brehs...:to:

what should I do?

What's your career?

I wish I could have taken a year off when I graduated but I didn't have the money. If you have money to do it, why not? The only problem would be having to redirect your focus back to your career once the year is up and I think that would be hard.
Terrible advice.
you had 4 years to think through this shyt.

taking a year off makes no difference.

are u an outgoing type? How old r u now? Do u regret starting ur career early? If not then What are the perks?

Yeah I'm pretty outgoing, I'm probably the most personable person there, not to mention the youngest by about 3 years. I just turned 27 yesterday and I don't regret it at all because I'm doing what I went to school for, I transitioned from an international to permanent. As far as perks, I'm farther ahead than a lot of people my age. I just bought a house last year plus my job is laid back, I work on a dam and some days I get to swim or fish. Plus the pay is really good, I'm not a coli millionaire tho.

The biggest perk probably is company matched 401k and stock and guaranteed annuities upon retirement which if I put in 25 years it matches my monthly salary for life

To think through what? My 4 years of college wasn't spent being idle. I was working and studying and taking overload, then as soon as I graduated, I went straight to grad school, still working. If I had the means to take a break right before starting my career, I would have. I would go out, not have any worries about anything and be able to live my life up without having to wait until the weekend or see if I have enough vacation to actually take one. There's nothing wrong with it if you're focused enough to get back on track when you need to and if your degree is in a field that has a good amount of demand.

I say stack some money then you can do what you want and not be restricted by money. But I can understand the flip side. But if you grind now, when you get older you can relax…

What's this career you have?

This doesn't make sense. If this were the case than what was the point of you going to college right away? You might as well had enjoyed your youth then, then went to school.

Either way you can still vacation and party with a career. People do it all the time.
:rudy:

My parents wouldnt have let me live with them if I wasnt in school at least full time!

THey dont play about education.

and i know that if i took a year off after high school, i would have never went to college.

Started programing at 18 fulltime while going to school.

These fukkboys have the game backwards.
Now when I pull up in my Lexus they can't understand

I never understood purposely holding yourself back. The idea is to work hard and play in between so you don't have to work until you're 70 or depend on social security
