These dudes been rapping damn near their entire lives. Nobody listed in this thread woke up at the age of 28 and decided they wanted to start rapping, they all started wel before that it's just when they turned 28 is when they finally got that "chance".
Danny Brown was in a group that released an indie album in like '03. Macklemore had en EP out back in 2000. It just so happen they didnt blow until a decade later.
With that said 28 aint too late for the op to start (I would not advise this to be his main source of income tho

Starting at 28 puts you at a significant disadvantage, but even if you started at 8 your chances would be incredibly slim. It's like the guy who buys ten lottery tickets chastising the guy who buys one....sure, he's ten times more likely to win, but his chance of hitting the jackpot is still very small.
If you're passionate about it, pursue your happiness....that's what life's about.

his first album dropped when he was 27 i think but he STARTED many years before that. if you're talking about just starting rapping & you never spit before in your life or never wrote anything before then i'd say take it a lot more seriously before you just try to jump in and do it for the money. then again you could be on some Trinidad James shyt and be spittin fpr a few months & have a hit

again, both of theose guys were rappin & releasing albums long before they really hit. 2 Chaniz had a previous career in DTP with Luda as Titi Boi & Rick Ross has been down since early 2000's if not late 90's with Slip N Slide

If you hot, you hot.....if you wack, you wack. nikkas wont give a shyt that you're 28. Plies was born in '76. Didn't drop his first mixtape until 2005.....so he would've been 29. By 2007, he was dropping his debut.
Rick Ross, 2 Chainz are examples too. If you serious enough to drop multiple tapes & videos in the next year or so to really get your name out, you got a shot. But like I said....if you not serious, and you're doing this for a fast buck, just go get a CDL & quit dreaming
