His sales will continue to decline but he still has a decent fanbase that will check for him and go see him live because the type of music he makes is made to be enjoyed in that kinda atmosphere

I enjoyed Freebase.

It's not common that you have a 35 year old rapper who's managed to create a huge buzz and create nationwide bangers and receive many nominations from his former position at the bottom of the barrel in the last decade.

nikkas kept saying he would fall off right after his album released and that was back in the summer and here we are with him still as relevant as ever being constantly featured on many major artists' songs. So far dude been consistent on them. As a result, many of them end up becoming hits. Is he here to stay or will he end up falling out of the game once he makes his money?

I think he's where Wiz Khalifa is right now in his career. (minus the fanbase wiz has)

Had a strong mixtape run that built up his hype, successfully cashed out on his debut album but left himself little room for growth. He is an easy person to get on track for a 'industry feature', but those features and lack of growth begins to show and dulls any attempts to reclaim that former buzz. His albums sales will probably show steady decline.

That's the thing about dudes who ride a wave to relevance. Once their wave dies down a lot of these dudes realize that they never really had a fanbase. (see chief keef) Props to Tity for even making it to his 3rd album, I know I didn't see that coming

No rapper is "here to stay for good"

wayne and Jay z beg to differ

His music has no substance whatsoever which means he will come and go. Plus the game is slowly, but surely getting back to the lyrical side. Kendrick Lamar putting up great numbers is an example of that and with Meek and Cass going at it the younger fans are starting to get introduced to the type of excitement a real lyricist brings to the table, so it's only a matter of time before the demand for that goes up and gimmicky artist like 2 Chainz are once again a joke. 2 Chainz buzz is reminiscent of the one Gucci Mane had a few years back, but where is Gucci now? Dissin every and anybody he can just to get a buzz because none of the 10million songs he put out is worth shyt sense majority or it lacks substance.

When this rap shyt stop being the wave for Tity though he'll still be aiight cause he still got the flx phone. Them shyt's is HOT in the skreets son!

I digress. 2chainz hasn't gained fans, hes lost them by over-saturation. and that's not due to "sales are down" argument bullshyt i know youre trying to pull. he went from selling 600k to selling 200k. you don't drop sales THAT fast because "sales are down"/. you drop it cause you oversatured yourself, lost some fanbase and you didn't gain a supportive fanbase or put out a project you fans felt like supporting.

you ain't said shyt.

stop comparing the sales of todays market to the sales of the 00's and 90s. sales are down period, in every genre.

but it TODAYS market, 2chainz is slowly going to "fade away"

just like most of these artist oversaturating the shyt out of themselves to "keep the hype", or "feed the streets"

what you think the reason for 2chainz throwing out a free ep was? not to "feed people cause my fanbase deserves it" :heh: but to rejuvenate his career and buzz after his album fukkin flopped.

there's no proof that he lost fans because of "over saturation" what fans don't want music from their artist.

there's no rhyme or reason why people buy albums. So using albums sales as the sole barometer of success is retarded

yes there is..

this is the difference between the 2 chainz, guccis and troy aves of the music industry and kendrick lamar and asap rockys

2 chainz and troy ave's think oversaturating and feeding your fanbase free music is going to drive your fanbase to go out and buy your album and be more supportive, but nope, it doesn't. it blurs the line between album and mixtapes. "what's the point of buying the album, if i can just get it for free like all the other music they release?"

Why are you projecting your own sensibilities on everyone else?

Cole dropped 2 mix tapes right before his album.

why are you making excuses?

this shyt is common sense. its what separates the mixtape rappers who stay with the same fanbase, and the rappers who increase their fanbase.

and you just made my point "cole dropped 2 mixtapes right before his album"

i guarantee j cole, kendrick and asap rockys next album numbers do even better than their priors because they understand basic things like this.

meanwhile, the meek mill and 2chainz of the industry numbers will go down.

How the fukk did that prove your point?

If what Cole did wasn't over saturation then what was it?

How did Chainz over saturate prior to his last album?

DIFFERENCE IS COLE STEADILY INCREASED HIS FANBASE, WHILE 2CHAINZ DID NOT.

2 CHAINZ WAS EVERYWHERE, HAD SO MUCH HYPE. BUT IT DID NOT GAIN HIM A SIGNIFICANT FANBASE THAT TRANSLATED TO HIS LAST ALBUM RELEASED.

JUST LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF FEATURES HE DID FROM 2012-2013 COMPARED TO WHAT J COLE DID.

J Cole delivered in his lane, 2 his fanbase. while 2chainz overssatured his lane. that's the difference.
