first off 2k11 was the GOAT of basketball games. 2k12 sucked. 2k13 was
I'm not even in a hurry for 2k14 due to pending PS4 announcements and not feeling like copping an old version. if the gameplay and servers are better, I'll probably cop 2k14 on ps3 once it drops to $40 in november like they always do.
NBA 2K11 is classic, NBA 2k12, 13, 14 not even close to good
can u elaborate on what 2k11 has that the rest is lacking, i figured 2k12, 13, and 14 were basically expansion packs

2K11 had Crerw mode 5v5 with rules and arenas, also my player online 5v5 with your friends and randoms, in my player you could actually get injured and sweat, you had the all star weekend. 2k12 had this annoying Up and Under cheese by the computer, AI doesn't react to your defense, etc.
U guys and this 2k11 GOAT stuff got me 
12 & 13 are much better than 2k11. Did not play 14 (waiting for next gen). Niqqas would spin dunk for a entire gAme. That game was really good. But that was the ultimate cheese

Wait until the ps4 version comes out...it looks magnificent.

only flaw with 2k13 to me was not being able to block dunks\\
The controls in 2k14 is fukking horrible..
It's vitrually impossible to do the simple moves like spin jumpers and step backs.
Why?
Because the controls are too sensitive into correlating with each other. Try to do a spin jumper and find your guy doing a spin move resulting in a turnover.

Every 2k has it's cheese.. but's its a matter of balanceU guys and this 2k11 GOAT stuff got me
And 2K11 had the best balance
2K12 was a step back for me
2K13 was a step forward the only flaw was not blocking dunks
2K14 is just trash to me... for current gen... you can't tell me that all they did was change the controls, slapped a ridiculous blocking system on there, and added a bunch of animations
Did they even test their game. On the technical note, the game is just plain embarrasing
