Pharrell could sing tho, plus; Pharrell wasnt a rapper first.

That's incorrect. Pharrell was afraid to sing, has admitted to not liking his own voice, had to be coaxed to sing in the first place, and has a vocal coach.

The answer is Ice Cube considering he has prolific hooks, wrote Eazy-E's hooks/rhymes, and came correct with hooks on songs like...

He was also the first person to jack other peoples beats to rap over that 50 Cent took later...

I apologize as someone from the Westcoast for birthing 50 Cent from him jacking Tupac's thug life vest wearing image, to being a crappy new york version of Ice Cube, all the way down to Dr Dre giving him the right beats and push :troll:

My point was Pharrell was never a 100% rapper like 50. Cube did that on one coast tho for people in his circle. 50 did it for multi-coastal artists (North, West & South) making him the one fully do it on a national stage for the genre. Plus 50 got more hits with his hooks than Cube and Cube was never a go-to guy.

You are trying entirely too hard to push for 50 Cent then wondering why someone is calling you a stan or asking how old you are?

First of all Boyz In The Hood is a classic song and was on a prolific album, why are you acting like it's some rarity and wasn't on the national stage? It very much helped kick off gangsta rap in the mainstream. I won't get into all the classics that still get played either :snoop:

Second, Ice Cube came from an era when Hip Hop was not mainstream and record labels like Interscope were not putting groups together like they did G-Unit. Or pushing the same. People also stayed regional. The Game was forced on 50 Cent by Jimmy Iovine and Young Buck was handed to him by the label. I bet you guys really thought Game spit so hardcore with DMX in a trailer 50 put him on and Young Buck just showed up at a video shoot to get signed on the spot :snoop: I

Third, Ice Cube had hits, more classic songs, and popular hooks in THREE DECADES. 50 Cent didn't even make it out of one. :mjlol:

Fourth, 50 Cent is just a bootleg Ice Cube at the end of the day. One who gets props thanks to the machine and the fact that New Yorkers wanted someone to rally behind with that type of Hip Hop sub genre. Mix Pac and Cube with Dre Beats, that's how 50 Cent blew up

Boyz in the Hood was national, I agree but you are missing the fact that no one was looking out for an Ice Cube hook like that back then and today. He might have had hooks here and there but no true mainstream type cross over stuff to the magnitude of 50. How often was Cube called on JUST to do a hook outside of his groups and the West Coast? I'll wait.

The same way we talk about the Drake stimulus here, there is no question at one point there was a 50 Cent stimulus. Was there ever an Ice Cube stimulus? nope.

Also, 50 met Young Buck on tour during the early days. The Game is the only one inserted into the group BECAUSE of the 50 Cent stimulus.
