I'm going to drop a painful truth for 50 fans: the dude's immense success was due to his association with Eminem and Dre combined with his ability to make cornball pop songs that white girls aged 14-21 ate up. When his white teenaged fanbase lost interest in him he became irrelevant. Which is why it's so funny his biggest supporters always bring up how street he is. His popularity had almost nothing to do with his street shyt. Had to do with his In Da Club, PIMP, Magic Stick, Candy Shop, Just A Lil Bit, white-people-who-don't-like-rap-except-for-Eminem loved it songs.

This is by far the single weakest analysis of 50 Cent's career that I have ever read in my entire life.

Never said he didn't have a buzz before signing with Aftermath. You seriously trying to say his mixtape buzz was a bigger reason for his record sales than the Em/Dre cosign and his corny pop songs? Whatever makes you feel better. But at his peak Curtis shared 80+% of his fanbase with Nelly/Eminem. Just like Nelly, as soon as that portion of the fanbase abandoned him it was game over for his sales. Dude's major label career lasted 4 years then fell off a cliff.
