Is a black Seinfeld show possible? A show about nothing?

We should pitch some 22 min episodes on here. Start with the cast, character descriptions and location. What age range are we thinking? Coli Breh age? 34-40. Three guys and one girl?

Was Kramer a side character or main? I feel like he wasn’t in every episode, or some episodes he’d slide in the door, hit the fridge, say something then ride out.

I think the closest we've ever had to this was Atlanta, but since most of us ain't living the life of rapper/manager, a lot of scenarios weren't things that the average black man and woman would encounter in our lives.

So that makes me wonder... Could a show that just explores the various things that we encounter in our lives succeed?

Jerry was a nationally known comic getting booked on The Tonight Show and George reported directly to the owner of the fukking Yankees….the staging and premise of Seinfeld wasn’t exactly some Roseanne everyman type shyt…Atlanta I think is a decent comparison, though it kinda shortchanges Atlanta a bit…but to answer the original question, yeah it’s possible….Kevin Hart’s Real Husbands of Hollywood is a rough black approximation of Curb Your Enthusiasm…and there’s a half jump from Curb to Seinfeld

Sounds like you didn't know what the show was about, how comedians find jokes.

Yes a black comedian could have dome the same thing, but we just aren't in that era anymore, the Internet and the fukk shyt people do is too much to compete with.

It’s possible but Seinfeld followed a tight blueprint. It ended how it started.

No one got married or had kids. They had wins here and there but the whole cast took many Ls along the way. And no one character was the focus.

What 4 black actors would legit agree to a show like this? They’d have to have the chops for it but also see the vision.

How many modern shows are there with black people just being normal, much less a black show about nothing. To me the best representation of black people recently has been on The Bear. It's not a "black show" by any means but there are multiple black characters just living normal lives and having normal conversations, personal triumphs/failures, etc. So many black writers and creatives get caught up telling stories that seem designed to appeal to white perceptions of the black experience. Which means endless black trauma. Our humanity is based on what people do to us (instead of being based on being human), so a show about black people living normal lives or not having run ins with the police wouldn't be attractive to executives. Flip side you can make a show about white people living (regular) life in the big city and it's a hit.
