Is a black Seinfeld show possible? A show about nothing?

:comeon: Seinfeld is cool but Larry David is the reason why the show is so good.

Big Dikk Larry David >>>>>

@Neo The Resurrected ONE you need to get on that Curb wave, breh. You’re missing out big time.

Larry and Jerry Directed, but the reason Seinfeld is as good a show as it was, was because of Michael Richards (Kramer) Julia Louis (Elaine) Jason Alexander (George) and the other writers crafting them into funny situations that the crew played off expertly.

Alot of Classic Seinfeld episodes/plots, if you were to watch it on DVD where they have the subtitle track 'notes about nothing' that explains the back story of what's being shown on the screen, as well as writer commentary from the other writers, the heavy lifting was between all the other writers who implemented alot of their real life situations or fantasies they couldn't have gotten away with in real life, and transported it onto George and crew.

Alot of people think that Larry David's leaving made Seinfeld 'unfunny' during the later seasons, but alot of the core writers during the earlier seasons, got their bread up and started to work on other projects that they got paid for after being apart of the Juggernaut that was Seinfeld, so episodes started to wane according to who you talk to (I still maintain that Seinfeld was Funny from Pilot up until the Finale...which sucked for reasons I can't get into lest I flood this page with prose) but you'd be surprised at how much directing they did as opposed to actual writing and crafting of these characters if you delve into it a bit more.

Ain't no projects to really put you on to, sadly. What I meant in regards to 'other projects' was that during the success of Seinfeld, alot of the writers who made iconic episodes/storylines, when they went out writing for other folk they had that banner "Seinfeld writer" that made them recieve bigger paycheques/opportunities on the financial end, rather than them running off to go create their own shyt with the same energy/resources, like a Curb your Enthusiasm or some other show similar to it.
Seinfeld was the perfect mixture of social climate, actors, writers, Viewer palateyou name it, that couldn't be replicated back then and even more so now, that we've social media and both watchers/studios want to 'binge' episodes rather than wait for episodic content unless forced to (HBO shows). I mean a writer walked into the writing studio talking about he had a weird dream that his girlfriend's stomach, most specifically her navel used to open like a mouth and talk to him.

That gave us this. That's what happened, they wrote it and it was a hit.
Only Seinfeld could have gotten away with this goofy shyt and made it entertaining, since this kind of writing would have gotten you sent out the building anywhere else.

This book right here explains what you saying . Fred Stoller was a writer on Seinfeld, I think he wrote a 1-2 eps? He was there for a year, I don't remember, I read this book a minute ago. If you google-image Fred Stoller Seinfeld you'll recognize him immediately. He acted on a few eps. He talks about something happening to him in his personal life and using that on Seinfeld for one of the characters (I forget which one). That's how the writing worked, "Do you (the writer) have a funny story that happened to you that we can use on the show?"

I know exactly who Fred Stoller is.
He was in the episode where Elaine dated a guy who could remember everything but her, and he also made a cameo in the Face painting episode where Puddy was rooting for the Devils.
I'lmma cop that, but I've had to explain too many times the different intricacies of Seinfeld since alot of people are either "Seinfeld sucks, because I saw Jerry Seinfeld do a standup and I didn't laugh" or "Seinfeld/Larry deserve to be billionaires because they wrote and created everything!"
In a bizarro universe, I wish they did write out Jason/Michael as characters the same way they wrote out the female lead in the pilot (Waitress chick) when she questioned Larry David's direction for the character/show, in regards to them writing episodes that didn't feature them all in some respect.
The show would have more than likely died on the pyre since so much of it's success is falsely attributed to the two guys who were integral but not solely responsible for it being as heralded of a show as it was.

“Southside” had its moments. Even the kind of unfunny episodes had random shyt happen that had me laughing out loud.

I wouldn’t count “Atlanta” as “a show about nothing, they had an overarching goal they were trying to reach. Still one of my favorite shows ever though.

I have never watched an episode of Seinfeld, but I may sit and binge it one day.

Wasn't 'cause he or his writing was THAT funny, though.
And I'm saying this as a devout Seinfeld Stan.

Oh I'm on record in the film room for saying Jerry wasn't that funny and got carried by the cast. I don't even think he's that great of an actor. If anything, he played the straight man to George, Elaine and Kramer.
