A violent uprising is at times a necessary evil in a revolution, but a revolution is a marathon, not a sprint. A true revolution starts after the victors have gained the instruments of power, hence it is should be viewed as a continuous process. It is however difficult to get power without a threat of violence, or in a tyrranical rule, full blown violence. But a peaceful revolution is possible, its only that the phase of violent rebellion is romanticised so much that the youth end up thinking that this is what a revolution is all about. A real revolution begins after power has changed hands, cause if things stay the same/become worse, then what was the point?
