I'd argue the Bucs are a better example than the Eagles. They've switched out three times in the last few years (Canales to Cohen to Grizzard) without missing a beat. With two of those guys becoming head coaches. Flip side the Eagles have clearly missed on two OCs in the last 4 years (this year and 2023).
good call on the bucs...a lot of it has to do with baker but still

eagles, my point is they struggle but eventually can overcome bad continuity due to talent. most teams cant do this. they just fall apart.

TYRONE GA!
campbell is one of few exceptions, but he also

1) got a really talented roster
2) not a defensive coach, and while not some great OC he was always a TE/TEs coach so he knows offense
3) had coaching blunders that directly affected his team not going into sb (niners game)
4) has a brand people can buy into on offense at being ultra aggressive

hes more of a "rah rah" peoples coach than a defensive coach and also is involved in offense

pure defensive coaches like Saleh, Glenn, Demeco can't do that.

nobody was saying they got a talented roster when he first got there though. :yeshrug:

and with them still being good while losing his genius OC, it shows it's not his coordinators. Even the DC might be better IMO.

we've seen his aggressiveness bite him in the ass no doubt but we've seen others be buffoons in the clutch who are considered good coaches as well.

You guys haven’t watched Justin Fields play and it shows.

If you saw the game up until that time like us Jets fans did this morning there’s absolutely no belief that Fields was going to do anything but take another sack.

If we had any real QB at the time Glenn would have gone for it.

He should’ve benched Fields and put in Tyrod Taylor.

the point remains he isnt a defensive coach :manny:

pure defensive guys a lot of time dont have input in offense

Jim Harbaugh is kinda the same way, not an Xs and Os guy but a good HC who is an offensive mind

who are actual defensive HCs who were hired relatively recently and have succeeded in continuity ? Bowles is the only one I can think of. Pete been :flabbynsick: Mike McDonald is looking solid but jury is still out. Siriani isnt a defensive coach at all. Dan Quinn ? a stretch but maybe.

Mike Tomlin always good but hes been there for decades now, and league was different back then.

100 percent agreed. Right now Coach Glenn has the support of the organization and the fan base. That being said if Justin has another game like he had yesterday and Glenn doesn’t bench him at halftime all hell will break loose.

Is Mac Jones better than any mid to bottom tier QB or is he simply in a good system with an elite coach calling plays? I think it's the latter, and if you put Mac Jones on the Jets or any team besides the Niners (and Vikings) he'd struggle like he always struggled before 2025.
You're right he is in a QB friendly system with a very good offensive coach.

Justin Fields cannot make plays from the pocket at a high level..

He can't

Mac Jones is a better passer than Fields that can't be disputed

I think people misread Campbell because he looks like a rah rah brute, and he plays into the stereotype. But he's clearly a really good offensive mind and spent years under Sean Payton. All the talk about "Ben Johnson's offense" was misguided: this is Campbell's version of the Sean Payton scheme. And he has elite players at every level of the offense.

He has also done a great job developing coaches. Including Glenn and Johnson. And I think Engstrand was going to be developed into an OC eventually but he jumped ship early instead of waiting. Credit Dan for realizing he wasn't ready to be an OC.

I'd also argue defensive coaches can work but they need some very specific things. First they need a good QB. Second they need a GM who constantly drafts weapons for the QB. And third they just need to hire McVay/KOC/Shanahan guys as OC lol. That's the Todd Bowles playbook. Bucs have spent the last couple draft stock piling really good weapons (Bucky Irving, McMillan, Egbuka, etc). Bucs could have easily been lazy, done nothing and said "well Mike Evans and Chris Godwin will be back soon." Instead they got the next stars for their offense ready to score TDs for the next 4-5 years.

I think a chunk of the fanbase has already turned on Glenn

He needs a complete game, belt to ass type of game.

:skip:

and the next year they are gone for a HC job

its like searching for a qb, finally finding one and the next year someone else takes him and you have to start all over

If I remember correctly Dan Campbell was about to cry his 1st year. Glen thinking it'll turn around for him too.
