What does Dean do that's so much better than Roman?

I don't see Dean as the WWE champ being able to carry a program , but a heel Roman would be lit.

WWE already tried with Roman taking storylines from Austin & Bryan. They both failed. Now It's time they used Rocky Malvia storyline. If this don't work it's over for dude.

That's unrelated to Reigns IMO. Dean could be a solid short term champ like Jeff was in 09 while these injuries clear up and I think people would buy it.

Dean was the most over when the Shield debuted, and he was booked as the leader. That's why he was the US champ while Rollins/Reigns held the tag titles. Rollins eventually surpassed him once he became more comfortable on the mic & started using the babyface moveset, and Reigns got over with the power moves. Dean was playing 3rd fiddle by the end of the Shield run.

But Dean is the type of wrestler who will always be over even though he's not very good in the ring. His charisma will always lead people to like him or hate him if he's a heel.

I think Rollins is the one who brought out the best of Dean. Dean was pretty much floundering near the end of the Shield days, but their feud after the Shield breakup gave Dean life again.
