Yes nikka trap soul
Them bullshyt ass drums and over processed vocals
Nah breh.

Neo-Soul.

Hip-Hop + Soul fusion utilizing harmony with lots of extensions.
Heavily influenced by the 70s, 80s and 90s of R&B (Soul,Funk, Disco) as well as Jazz & Jazz Fusion.

On topic:

Anderson fukking .paak is one of THE best musicians to come out last decade.
Not only is he a great rapper, singer and drummer but it's how all of these skills
combine as a song writer.

Anderson's understanding of groove, harmony and melody is on some OTHER shyt.
And he does it without sounding PRETENTIOUS, without coming off as CONDESCENDING.

He's clearly a huge student of 70s Motown and guys like Marvin and Stevie.

I have NO PROBLEM with a single soul saying Anderson is one of THE BEST of
his generation, he really put in the work to earn that ddesignation.

100% cosign

Paak is a monster on the drumkit (better than Questlove). Paak would make a great urban black gospel drummer and you can tell he studied/grew up playing that style, which is evident in his fills and funky groove

also some jazz-fusion type stuff

most people don't realize how hard it is to drum like this while also singing
