Lets not pretends its just cacs. Black businesses and black folks with money wont hire his ass either looking like that. Folks in this thread cappin. Would you want your doctor or lawyer to look like buddy in the video or you want them looking clean cut and well dressed? we know the answer.

This whole notion of I can do what I want and never have to conform or sacrifice always come from bums and broke folks (Dude in the video is a front desk admin). Folks that are successful know there are always sacrifices and trade offs to be made in order to be successful.
I wouldn't mind my Doctor looking like that if he is also well dressed.

That shyt looks a mess, they’re not even neat. I wouldn’t even eat at a fast food restaurant that he worked at, I would drive off. He needs to cut that nappy shyt off and start over.

I don’t have a problem with his hair and I think for dude to tell him off the rip to cut his hair is wild.
Like one of my SUCCESSFUL uncles told me in my early 20s: “do you own your own business and call all the shots? No? Ok, then cut that bullshyt off off your head. nikka, you’re holding yourself back”.

Eventually I listened and doors opened up so damn fast. We know it ain’t right to be judged on something as simple as hair, but if we don’t own the company, we may want to think about how we present ourselves. Not saying don’t be yourself, but these nikkas wearing wicks on their head and all that shyt ain’t even going to be hired by black employers. At least not in a real career position making good money.

My braids are back down to the middle of my back again but my skills run so deep that it’s hard to turn me away from any business venture, no matter how I look. I worked my way up to that, though, and made sure my my skills were undeniable

As someone who works at a major financial firm and plays a role in hiring, I'm not buying it. There are multiple black dudes (and black women) with dreads at our offices or at other firms and corporate offices I've visited. Furthermore when I've gone to the hospital I've seen black doctors, nurses, and MAs with dreads all the time.

Most noteworthy companies in this country are on the "diversity and inclusion" wave. If you are qualified for a job, have the right background (education, referrals/recs) etc you will be fine as a black man with dreads. Now are there corporate spaces in say...the south where it could be a problem? Perhaps. But overall in the country, especially in major cities you will be fine.

Feel like the Pandemic kicked this in
I didn't watch the video and have no clue who Anton Daniels is but Im not mad at either side of the discussion honestly.

Matter fact , I think any parent/ elder/ OG who DOESN'T put their black child up onto game as to how certain hairstyles MIGHT can hinder their progression in this society, is doing a disservice to that child.

As black men specifically, we HAVE to understand that our collective image has been absolutely destroyed throughout history( by design of course). BY DEFAULT, we are viewed as drugdealers, thugs, criminals and gangbangers and certain hairstyles will have you looking like that even more , mainly due to how we are portrayed in mainstream media.

Ill be lying if I denied that 90% of the mugshots I see in crime related stories are of black men rocking certain hairstyles. Hardly ever clean cut:

Unfortunately, due to our mainstream image in the media, square 9-5 working black men who want to rock certain hairstyles will be looked at as criminals by default. And no, I'm not just talking about cacs.... I'm talking about even by other black people. Black people are constantly being flooded by negative imagery of black people, hence the self-hatred and hesitancy amongst us.

At the end of the day, rock what you want black man , I'm all for it and support it:salute: BUT it's extremely important to know the reality and weight that having deeply melanated skin brings. I don't see why any black person would come in a thread like this on some "bu bu but whiteboys can rock mullets & tattoos " :mjcry:. Haven't y'all learned that the image of cacs and other groups isn't nearly as demonized as the black man's?!!??? :what:

I'm not mad at anybody for putting young black males up onto game about certain hairstyles and styles of dress ( sagging pants) before sending them off into this world.

This is just idiotic

When waves and High tops were in fashion, there were loads of mugshots with them in.

Some of you need to leave the wannabe Matt 504 posting alone because you just sound like a c00n :dead:

But you're in fụcking England or some shıt mate.

Them nıggas can't cut hair for shıt dawg. 🤮

If I lived there, I'd grow my hair out over letting some ole tea and crumpets looking jolly-good fág fụck my shıt all the way up trying to line me up with scissors and porcelain stained teeth.

Nıgga talking about cockney's and shıt. My hands itching right now...
:picard:

@Peter Popoff look up on YouTube Regal Gentleman/Dan Gregory videos and watch some of his haircut videos. He is in England and based on his videos seems like he cuts hair good.

If it's unkept and you trying to get a job, cut it, then grow it back when you got the money to maintain it. If you in the creative space, do you.
Keyword there is unkempt. Dude in the video dreads looked fukked up.
He ain't have them Eddy Gordo twists lmao
He ain't necessarily gotta cut em but make em look right

Repped.

I just can't stand how it's always black people that need to change. we need to cut our hair. we need to stop wearing certain things. we need to start doing this and stop doing that shyt gets on my last nerves.
:francis:

Literally no other group of people get these criticisms. Everyone is always telling us that we need to change and it pisses me off.
Calm down nikka the old heads just giving game about how the playbook worked to be successful that they've seen in their lifetime loving through these environments. The world has become a bit more accepting since their era when tattoos and dreads would get your resume thrown in the trash.
We making progress on this front at least
