Is apple tv any good ?

I can't remember if my roku has youtube built in. but apple tv cost twice as much as roku and its only worth it if ur someone who likes to buy shyt from itunes.

for me, I just wanted a cheap box to watch netflix on, so for that, its piff. also it has HBOGO app as well which is a bonus.

jailbroken apple tv looks piff tho.

Main reason why I'm getting apple tv, premium channels, porn, and sports packages for free

I Dont Have An Apple TV But I Have A SmartTV And Its Awesome Getting To Watch YouTube On TV, Do They Not Have Rights Or What?

I don't know why it's not on Roku right now, but I know it was a while ago. It probably has something to do with Google not wanting it on there.

You can watch Youtube videos on it via Plex however, and Plex is the main reason I have 3 of them.

I use 2 non jailbroken 2nd gen AppleTVs. I had it jailbroken at one point but after an update never went back...don't really need it.

I have an old mac running a media server and I just use it to push movies to the Apple TV. Or sometimes I'll use StreamToMe and push them from my PC to my iPad to my AppleTV. With StreamToMe I can push any file format that I want.

I also use it to Airplay HBOGo and MaxGo to the Apple TV.

And my AppleTV that's not attached to a TV with a cable box....I use SlingPlayer and Airplay cable to it.

Mirroring is key too. But I won't get into that.

So to sum it up....if you don't have a need for Airplay go with something else.

Also, if you're coppin' an Apple TV, the 2nd version is the way to go. The 3 hasn't been jailbroken yet and the main reason people go with an Apple TV is for jailbroken Airplay access.

HBO (Cinemax) claims there will be one later this year.

the justin tv app would be sooooo piff on the roku if the streams were even of 480p quality. but I swear they are all worse than SD television feeds.

i got a google revue, apple tv 2, and boxee tv,

i would suggest getting a google tv set box like the VIZIO Co-Star

I use You Tube alot and apple hasnt updated the utube on the apple tv in yrs
only reason to cop an apple tv is if u buy alot of movie and tv shows from itunes
if not google tv is the way to go

I dont buy anything from iTunes, I have an app iFlicks that converts any movie or tv show I download to iTunes, so since I am in their "ecosystem" I love my apple tv

If you download your content on PC, the Roku paired with the Plex app and Plex Media Server (on your PC) will be all you need.
