Sure, he was HJIC during the nba's exponential growth period, but he was also handed three of the most trancendent sports figures in modern history in mj, larry, and magic....and also during that time he stayed out the way and allowed the game to market itself.

In the last 15 or so years, he he been on an ego fueled quest to put his slimy fingerprints all over everything, and in the process ruin all enjoyment for the true nba fan. One minute hes openly fueding with anyone even the least bit critical of his dictorial like ways (see: ralph nadar, marc cuban), creating a mafia like protection of refs, outright controlling outcomes (see: lakers), and implementing rules that legislate the passion and fun out of the game, in order to satisfy racists.

Stern was once a fairely innovate and progressive guy, but his day came and went a long time ago. The nba succeeds despite itself, and even saying that its a sport firmly ranked third, despite how aesthetically pleasing it is to watch on tv vs baseball. Its like having rush limbaugh in charge of the league. I will celebrate his departure

So mix 89% of nba players whining like literal small little children over every play, with overzealous ref's with too much control and there you have fouls for slamming the ball off the court. I dont disagree with the spirit od this post, but rather its overall conclusion. The racists have already written off the nba. Its not the product thats at issue, but the makeup of the employees to that demo so why appeal to it? The fact that hard fouls and passionate aggressive play are now legislated out, and players have to wear suits, to me has no positive net effect on the bottom line. Its just something that makes stern n friends happy, so they can feel like they got their niqqers under their thumb

Naw man....corporate monies interest is in the expansion of capital and profits. If being involved in the nba makes financial sense, then they're stayin put. And the douche bags that make up the luxury suites are replacable.
