Is bean pie the most underrated dessert? 🥧

Never had a bean pie, always heard it in jokes about the bowtie brothas lol

But I recently made some fukking delicious black bean brownies with cane sugar for a grab and go breakfast for my kids, they hittin.

Seeing how the brownies came out I can see bean pies being good.

Had my wife make me one a few months back cause I hadn’t had one in years. She made it pretty on point just a little too sweet for my taste buds.

It's basically the only cake/pie type dessert I buy from the supermarket
Super underrated imo, even a lot of black people have never had it
I think that's mainly due to the fact it was literally invented by the Nation of Islam
So it's that obvious stigma attached and it's probably never marketed to cacs because of that

And beans make for a great base for desserts imo. One of the best desserts I ever had was in Curacao they have this dish called tutu which is basically sweetened mashed up black eye peas. I HATE black eye peas in the traditional way ADOS cook them but whatever they do to that shyt when they make tutu had me like
