yes.

being nice costs you.

:hubie:

no it doesn't... if you're nice people are more willing to help you...

there's this korean movie called "The housemaid" and one of the characters says "I love how you're such a nice girl. You're not bad-tempered, you're polite to me."

and the girl goes

"I learned that from father. He said to treat people politely. It may seem like a sign of respect, but it's really putting myself first."

yes because being a 'good' person is always relative to how you benefit people. A 'good' employee is someone who bends over backwards for the company even if it inconveniences them.. A 'good' man is someone who breaks his back to give his woman everything she wants and never stresses her. A 'good' woman is someone who shuts the hell up and does a split whenever it's desired...and I've found as soon as you don't act the way others want you to, you're no longer 'good.'

Focus less on being a good person and more on being genuinely yourself (while avoiding adding negativity to the world.)

I looked up the symbolism of some of the aspects of the dream.

The coach = subconscious saying something about self-discipline

Losing The ID = Questioning your identity/Individuality

That's what inspired me

Naw im saying.. assuming that professional football is probably your dream job, you didnt try some lucid dreaming and get the most of it? Did you even get a chance to get on the field and play in your dream? You were dreaming about being in the locker room about throwing jerseys in a pile which is ironic because thats where youre posting :mjlol: your dream just went in full circle.

I recently had a dream that inspired this thought.

I was on the Niners and for some reason our team decided to protest and throw our jerseys and lanyard IDs into a pile. I joined them of course. The coach (who looked like a Harbaugh) came back and was upset. He immediately started to fire/cut players moreso over the IDs than the jerseys. I started to panic and realized I had my ID so I was good. I flashed it to the coach and he didn't trip. But I checked my ID and it was Mark Curry's (Comedian not the Diddy one). And I saw that my ID was across the way, on a counter. I panicked and realized I needed to flip the ID's face towards my chest so no one else could see. Then I woke up.

Do we all just need to get it how we live and disregard how others see us? Or is how we are perceived more important than what we are led to believe?
If you been reading and getting inspired to be something by one of these ayn rand authors, then do that and keep it pushing. Don't look for validation from others to be a pos........you either gone do it or not.......nobody other than other people who ha e decided to do the same gone try to make you feel better about it

Being a good person is "overrated" if you expect any kind of "reward" whatsoever. Vast majority of the "good things" you do will go unnoticed, or even worse will come be expected from others. Being a "good person" won't land you the job, the partner, the house, the car, etc per se. That's just not how life works.

Being a good person is something you do for itself, just because you believe that it's the right thing to do. That's it. That's why I can't take "religious" people who talk about "how can you live a good/moral life without religion" seriously : that kind of thinking makes me believe they only do the "good" thing because it's what their religion tells them to do and because they're aiming at paradise more so than because they actually want to do that good deed.
