Sort of. The problem is what stands between me and success is usually politics. I work in the agency world I'm looking to move client side.

So basically when I show what can be done in-house when web teams, marketers and technology partners (along with publi come together seamlessly and improve performance 500-1000% then you are going to have game changing standards being deployed throughout the digital ad industry period.

There is so much that can be evolved but right now the main barrier is political issues between vendors clients and agencies. Most people don't like irrelevant intrusive advertising and neither do I.

My goal is to help usher that change (of course make money doing it) and make a win-win for businesses and consumers to connect when the time is right. But it requires seamless collaboration that is rarely done consistently in the marketing/advertising industry digital ecosystem.
Who do you think is doing digital ads the best right now. I'm not a huge fan of snapchat but their 5 second advertisements seem like a huge step forward

GEICO has been pretty consistently good over the past couple of years.

But Microsoft has been stepping their game up big time in the past year or so in general not just on Digital.

Geico has always made great tv ads. As far as microsoft...I can't say I can think of many of their ads but their products themselves have been a step up from years ago

Great you brought him up. I was thinking of him as I was making this thread...a lot of my friends shyt on him but don't see the positive outcome he made for himself by being loyal to his vision and aligning himself with the best business opportunities.

I think of emcees I worked with and they are so loyal to the hoods they come from that they think anyone who presents them with an opportunity is a trying to rob them on the back end lol. They allow their individual goals to suffer because they are afraid of what others will think of them.
he definatly has long term plan since he signed with badboy probably going ot try and sneak in a ciroc deal or something

All throughout my professional career I have heard people say, that guy is a scumbag because he is an opportunist and doesn't follow his plan to success. I use to think this way as well and out grew this mind state.

I don't think there is anything wrong with looking for and using opportunities to gain an advantage for oneself.

As I googled to see what exactly is an opportunist and what others think of them, I came across the following bit of information:

Description of an opportunist
An opportunist:– Sees all current opportunities as an opportunity of a lifetime – and is tempted to take them all – they seize the moment
– Is open to everything – there’s no room for stubborn thinking or narrow minds
– Is optimistic with built-in affirmations: “good things will happen to me”, “I can overcome obstacles”, “life and people are generally good”, “I am capable of achieving my values and goals”
– Is decisive and proactive
– Is motivated by new opportunities and are often lost when an opportunity is fulfilled
– Sets goals, knows what they want, is visionary, informed and positive
– Acknowledges that outcomes may not be the result of hard work and is humble enough to know external factors may influence their outcomes
– Is flexible and adaptable to change, they view the world differently to others
– Takes action and solves problems quickly
– Has a heightened sense of awareness for themselves and the environment around them.

Are you an opportunist? Do you think it's wrong to be an opportunist?

Thanks

Depends on whether or not the person is predatory with it.

it depends on the situation. in business, you're always looking for the the right opportunity. whether that's a sale or an acquisition.
the problem is that usually such opportunities are often at the expense of someone else. problems also arise when people practice this in friendships/relationships. if you can't turn it off then you can't be trusted.
