Beyonce shyt isn't gonna be charting as high other album because her album is a Tidal exclusive which you failed to mention in your OP

But since when was it all about commercial success? And obviously if she is putting out her music only on Tidal and making it a concept album with very few commercial singles. Thats not what she is aiming for.....

So no, her success isn't overstated. At least in the opinion of someone who is a causal fan of commercial music. Touring is where the money is now anyway. She just puts out CDs just to have new material to perform on tour

With that said, I actually liked 4.

I haven't heard and have no interest in hearing her album. Her self titled one was decent, I'll say that, but very very overhyped. Lots of corny songs on it too. And I can appreciate corny songs, but not when they're being presented as the cool thing. Haven't heard 4. Her longevity is to be admired but I personally haven't enjoyed her music like that in years.

Did you forget Beyonce's album is streaming only on Tidal? She is outselling Drake in physical copies every week and he's out here making up the difference with the fact that he's on Apple, Tidal, Spotify, etc.

Beyonce stopped making pop singles two albums ago. Drunk in Love was her last single designed to have billboard chart success. Other than that, what has she officially released and built up as a single? All those songs in the top 40 were off the strength of people downloading Tidal just to play her album. Once the iTunes dropped, that was obviously going to change. Don't be stupid.
