Tough question. Pun probably had to work twice as hard to just rap with his physical problems, you can hear him gasping for breath on every song. And he rapped fast.

Pun passed away too early to tell if he would’ve been lyrically better but for his weight class he was far more impressive to rap the way he did over Em. He probably would’ve gave Em a run for his money.

only nas can be looked at as similar and pun was nastier than nas wholeheartedly. As pun could do it all.
whereas nas outside of a culture based song landscape is lacking outside of like hotboyz remix.
Oh and nas can not do a girl record whatsoever.
whereas pun was a master at the elusive high quality culture based girl record.
amoung the greats,...the deciding factor is always gonna be intangibles culturally.

I'd say they are probably neck to neck as far as lyricism goes.
Both they original styles are mad similar pun flowed faster was more polished and complex but EM wasn't that far behind....Pun def edges him out tho
