I loved Biggie. My only grip, and it's with fans and not him, is people who say he is the best ever or right there. I don't feel like he had enough material out to be considered the greatest of all time. Classic album and a double album that had a little too much filler for me.
Somebody with sense...

Biggie's catalog comes down to maybe 15 good songs (and I am being generous), and he is GOAT based on that?

Shat is hilarious...He is the MOST OVERRATED rapper in the history of Hip Hop...Dude has been crowned based on maybe 15 songs...Where else do they do that at? :pachaha:

Thing about Biggie was he was an exceptional rapper, in my opinion also he had the best debut albums in Hip Hop, personally to me. I think RTD and LAD are all time classics and it's a testament to him that he gets mentioned as a great despite not having as much material as some. If it's solely off talent I think Biggie is a GOAT contender, he really was a outstanding talent as an MC. When it comes to discography though I don't think Biggie got to do enough to make him THE GOAT but I think what he did do was so great he still cemented his place among the greats and the legends. I just wish we were able to get more Biggie material cause he was a gifted brilliant artist.

are you trolling? Jada always get the "he can spit but his albums are trash" hate on here..

I say that because PAC stans always try to downplay BIG career...Jada does make weedplate albums but he doesn't have a dedicated group of stans that go after him like that

Scarface is another OVERRATED rapper...

2Pac took "Smile" and made it his song, so the only thing Scarface has is "My Mind Playing Tricks on Me"....I want to give him "On my block" but that super beat just overpowered his lyrics and delivery...

Dude is just a name, but when you ask the average fans to name Scarface songs, they will name maybe 3 to 5 songs, and "my mind is playing tricks on me" will be one of them....

This is how you can tell if a rapper is overrated or not...How many different songs do most people know from their catalog? Rappers with big names but only a handful of recognizable songs are OVERRATED...
Welp....

There goes my theory

It's not about just average fans, Hip Hop fans fukk with songs such as...

Now I Feel Ya
Mind Playin Tricks 94
Hand Of The Dead Body
I Seen A Man Die
In Between Us
G Code
Look Me In My Eyes
In Cold Blood

And a BUNCH of others, not even considering the Geto Boys work.

There's songs not on there I didn't even mention such as Street Life which is 1 of my favourite songs, or Keep Me Down which was ill. Scarface is really loved, and it's not just a name, it's his music, even on here I've seen people know about his music pretty well, he's not a pop star so true every casual may not but many Hip Hop heads know his shyt, Diary Of A Mad Man etc, he's got so much dope shyt.

The only song I know from that list is "Mind Playin Tricks 94" and if that is the only song that I know...You have to be a Scarface fan to know more than 3 songs in that list...

The majority of Hip Hop fans have 2 or 3 rappers they fcuk with and the rest they just know through collaboration and if the song is in heavy rotation...

I know Scarface through "Smile" which I consider a 2Pac song, then I heard "My Playing Tricks On Me" casually on TV...

If this is all I know about Scarface, I am willing to bet the majority of hip hop fans know even less...Why? because I actually give every artist of every single music genre that I come across a chance...Most people don't...

The only person I've ever seen hate on Scarface is Big Mel (who hates everything that Black people love)

Face is probably the most universally respected rapper on The Coli..

Even the Old Head New York Elitists throw him in as a token to justify that they really DO like Southern rap...

The fact that he hasn't been involved in any devisive rap beefs doesn't hurt either. If he would have had issues with Nas/Jay/Cam/Big/Pac/etc instead of Lil Flip and Troy I'm sure he'd get more hate. I agree that he's kind of become a safe, token southern pick for people that aren't really familiar with his work. DC is the only place on the east coast where I've seen people genuinely ride for him.

Since he influenced so many rappers, including Jay-Z, to diss him is to diss your favorite NY rapper.

Dude doesn't have a catalog so its hard to talk about him.

Unless you wanna consider Biggie Duets. They did him so wrong with that

Also someone said when biggie got shot gravy came out of him.

I laughed so hard but it was foul to say.

It was also a double entendre considering the fact that Jamal Gravy played him in the biggie musical
