I don't know.

But sometimes when I log on twitter and make tweets I feel there is this expectation of us as black people to be dumb and ghetto and if we display any sort of intelligence we're immediately seen as a threat.

I think black intellectualism is feared.
If you're a black man or black woman and display some intelligence and foresight and education :merchant:society gets shook.

They think all we good for is for some dance moves, a hot 16, a wicked jump shot, inhuman speed, and nothing else.

I made some comments on twitter during the olympics saying that its cool that all these black people are winning sports competitions but we need more black doctors, technicians, chemists, biologists, geneticists, scientists, vetereniarians, architects, lawyers, judges etc....we dont need anymore black athletes.

It got some love...but I think throwing that notion out there that we should be more than show negroes gets people scared.

Anyways what are your thoughts?

This "conditioning" has harmed us in a sense that intelligent black people are often ridiculed by other blacks for being intelligent. They, even to this day are often referred to as "c00ns", "uncle toms", and "sellouts" Black people seeking to get out of the hood are often labeled as a "sell out". Black people who speak and dress a certain way are often accused of "acting white". Young black youth often suppress their own intelligence to appear more "street"/"hood" and to seem more cool. Its almost like we have connected anything positive and intelligent to "whiteness". Thoughts??

According to The Coli, this is a myth.

That's all I'm going to say on the subject :coffee:

Valued by who, exactly?

and honestly im tired off hearing and seeing "we don't need anymore athletes, or rappers or whatever, we need more Black doctors etc"

Cause i'm certain there are more Black Doctors than there are more actual rappers and ball players combined. Stop spouting incorrect narratives. Why do we have to put down one thing, to big up another thing?

Not outside of our culture for the reasons you mentioned. Its been passed down from slavery and discrimination. *When did you learn how to read negro?* *Why are you trying to hop the fence negro?* This is why white people will act surprised when you talk proper and they will say something like you're so proper. Something they never say to other white people.

1) Everyone on the coli has been called a c00n at one point

2) Once you get off the internet, people are only called sellouts if they're actually sellouts

:skip:You already know the answer to this question.
Yea I do.

It's a hell to the no. Not just a simple "no".

Black buffoonery is gold in this society.
Black intellectualism is only valued by black people.

I see all these sites like Huff Post using black intellectualism as a weapon against us by hiring black writers to write race based think pieces for white consumption. It's demonic.
:wow:
