trust nikkas who got tangible results they can show you on the spot. Anyone else is just lip service.
Wow... And during the Michael Brown case I was 100% for this movement and thinking about buying shirt. We really do not have anyone we can trust...![]()

$33mil on protests.
think protests are more important then grants and business loans?$33mil on protests.
$33 mil given to those communities could have paid for housing grants, land grants, small business loans, etc.
So you "black feminists"think protests are more important then grants and business loans?

@PoitierThreads like this are why I love this site... You'd be hard pressed to find another forum full of black people addressing serious matters like this anywhere on the internet![]()

But what does shouting down people accomplish? Here's the thing: Bernie is more real that any of those fake suburbanites of BLM. He was there. They protest on twitter, on tumblr and nothing else. I think @Poitier just made a thread where some BLM activist justified dating white people. This is fake pro black nonsense, you either keep it 100 percent, or stop fronting. If bernie does not get a pass, neither do they for being a Hillary astroturf group. Especially those that heckled Bernie.I think conceptions of "respect" matter less when we're dealing with the kind of issues Blacks face in America We're frequently disrespected and disregarded by the media, politicians, judges, law enforcement and the regular citizenry in this country. The kind of oppression that we face in the U.S. calls for what some might consider radical action. If that involves taking over a stage or two and confronting politicians then I think it's worth doing.
I also think it's correct to make politicians acknowledge and address your specific concerns, regardless of how progressive you believe their background to be. Too often we vote for people who we think, for whatever reason, have our best interests at heart and then simply sit at home and hope for the best. The effects of that type of activism have been poor to say the least. While there's no doubt that Bernie Sanders has a respectable history as a politician and activist, I don't think that lets him off the hook. I don't think that means we should simply trust that he will address our issues without significant pressure from our side.
