lupe is up there with black thought

Black Thought is top 15 for me ever, easy...but there's shyt Lupe can do that Black Thought can't, whereas Lupe can do everything Black Thought can do, he just doesn't have that ill ass voice that Black does so it wouldn't sound the same. Lupe doesn't get enough credit for being an alien, lol

Technically (and literally), he's a poor man's J. Cole, but I get what you're saying here. Figuratively, he may be a rich man's J. Cole tho.

And hell fukking no, Blu is barely fit to spit shine Lu's boots and I actually really like Blu.

outside below heaves album wise in terms of lyrics i don't fukk with no other blu album.

Lupe >> blu

But i never thought about the bolded :ohhh:
And many members fell off cause they didn't know the ledge cause
They heads got gassed up, they still ain't got no drive
I'mma ride till I crash and I still ain't got a ride
I move slow cause bro I got a lot on my mind
That's why I'm quick to get to pieces when I'm jotting my lines
Still grinding at the drop of a dime
Trying to rob the world for every cent cause shyt I owe a lot to my moms

Those last bars especially is basically what Cole just took and ran with. I love Cole and obviously has a much better body of work , but bar for bar lyrically speaking he’s poor mans Blu

Below The Heavens is better than any Lupe album, but Wasulu is overall a better rapper.
I think Blu regrets that he didn't go all out on that 2008-10 mixtape era. He was ahead of Wale, Cole, Jay Elec, Cudi, Drake, XV and others, but he just never went all in with it, when he had the advantage.

Lupe saw fit to bite certain aspects of Blu's (Post "Below The Heavens") abstract underground work.
IF that isn't an example of how much Lu was feeling Blu and his respect
for that mans work then I don't know what to tell you.

:yeshrug:

A lot of posters won't admit that there was a moment when Lupe was enamored with that
Asesop Rock/Experiment Blu/Earl Sweatshirt/MF Doom/Mos Def on "The Ecstatic"
stream of thought style writing. It's a form of rap writing that largely isn't even respected on
The Coli ironically enough.
