That's your opinion, which you're right to have but that doesn't make it a scam. The scam would be bottled water companies selling "spring" or "purified" water that's just tap water. Tap water is disgusting but it ain't a scam. Most purified water companies are scams tho

In America yes. Worldwide, no. Bottled water is a luxury worldwide. My coworker went off on another about how we shyt in cleaner water than what her ppl in Thailand drink.

Personally, all bottled water tastes the same. I remember seeing a news report about a company selling bottled water from the taap but selling it a fresh spring water Bottled water is a billion dollar industry for a reason.

I be drinking Ice Mountain and Fiji, so when the store ain't have either I was trippin. Ended up picking some Evian after research. Then I questioned myself like nikka it's just water

yes is most certainly is a scam. the majority of the bottled water companies are just serving you tap water that has been filtered. No different than the stuff you get from your fridge water spout.
but like other people said. if you life in a foreign country where you don't have access to safe drinking water, your best bet is bottled water.
otherwise there is no reason to pay for somebody else to filter your tap water when you can do it yourself.

and don't be fulled by marketing terms like spring, and glaciar streams and shyt. shyt is still tap water, they don't make tap in a lab, it is stream,river, or spring water collected into a reservoir. they just call it city water because its for the city.
