The logic is based on men's income trajectory. It doesn't apply to outliers just like BMI. I get the angle you're going for but it's just looking like a desperate reach for a gotcha moment.

A superstar who ran through his fair share of top notch women, went through a failed marriage that gave him a group of ungrateful adult children. The man looking for peace and found it. This ain't a regular situation so applying "regular" dating logic doesn't apply.

For most other people in a first world country, the advice you pointing out is valid without a doubt.
