I always believe no matter who you feud with or what town you're in, if you're a true star, you'll get a huge POP regardless. Stone Cold has proven this PLENTY of times. No matter where he is or who he is feuding with, the crowd reaction is ridiculous.
Only people that get consistent reaction these days are Bryan & Cena

I blame booking, Dolph and Ryback used to get some of the best pops of the night before their balls were cut off

None of those guys have megastar potential, that includes Bryan and Cena...ESPECIALLY Dolph and Ryback.

didnt know they had to pay for their own plane tickets :patrice:

That's the messed up part about being a pro-wrestler, you already don't get paid much compared to a lot of sports stars and entertainers and then on top of that you have to cover a lot of your own expenses. smdh

hotel rooms and car rentals makes sense, but plane tickets aren't exactly cheap. I guess WWE's logic is most of the roster isn't used in most of the overseas tours and on top of that they don't have to pay for anything medical wise [which is a great incentive]

:dahell: John Cena is one of the top WWE talents of all time

Define Megastar

In order to be a megastar in wrestling, you have to be BIGGER than wrestling itself. That's what sets apart Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Macho Man Randy Savage, and the likes of them from the rest of the wrestlers. You ask a random person on the street if they know any of the guys I've listed and they'll say, "Hell yeah!" They transcended outside of wrestling into mainstream culture where everybody will know who they are.

John Cena, I admit, he's a star in the WWE, yes, but mainstream? Naw. He was even begging Lebron James for attention (there's a thread on that as well) because he isn't on that mainstream megastar level yet. I'm not aking anything away from him, but he's not on that level and probably never will be.

No. The only time the crowd seemed to be really into him was when he first came back versus Cena. All his feuds were :patrice: and matches were meh outside of ER (I didn't see the entire match vs. Punk so I can't speak on that). Even after beating Taker he has only had one memorable match (Extreme Rules) and one memorable moment (Breaking the Streak) in two years..

You're talking about celebrity status then, John Cena is most definitely a celebrity.

TMZ articles, most Make A Wish wishes granted, platinum album, awards show host, only wrestler regularly on ESPN, etc

Celebrity status comes with being a megastar, but you're missing the point. Most people outside of the wrestling world don't know who John Cena is or they'll ask you, "That name sounds familiar, what does he do?" Cena still not top tier as "icon" status.

Well there can only be so many icons in anything whether it be football, basketball, or wrestling. First name that comes up when i talk anyone about wrestling is cena with the most prevalent question being "Is Cena still the champ?"

There are only about 5 icons in wrestling (Hogan,Rock, Austin, Flair, Macho)

He's not an icon but he's definitely a "megastar"

Gotta remember he left on his own terms. He couldve been on top if he wanted too so Vince had to give him some extra to make him come back. I think it's worth it because I think he's closing in on my top 5 and for sure top 10.

He can work with anybody and make them look great. He's a great seller in that he makes whoever he's wrestling look legit when they're on offense. He can wrestle any style and be one of the best at it. The only downside is his lack of mic skills but with Paul Heyman it really doesn't matter.

Brock is never afraid to a do a job or make someone look good so he's good for the WWE to keep around. Hopefully he feuds with young guys now as he's ran through the vets on the roster so far. Brock/Bryan, Cesaro and Reigns or Rollins would be a lot of fun
