But unfortunately yes it is quite bad. My parents have been trying to get me to bleach for years, I simply refuse.

She's right. My mom also encouraged my sister to do this too growing up. And she did use bleaching products heavily until her early years in college. :francis:

My biggest question is what is hoped to be achieved? Is it really just acceptance?? Does your moms bleach??

If I'm not making sense let me know... This shyt truly mind boggling to me.. I understand but I need real perspective from people who are in it and know

We're Africans(Ghanaian).

Bleaching in our culture is associated with beauty and attraction to advance or marry into a higher status. Not all women support this tho.

As for my mom, yes she also bleached for most of her life to make herself more attractive and eligible to advance to a higher status. She only stopped bleaching herself 10 years ago in her 50s.

My girl got a friend who Ghanaian but I'm not sure if she born there.. Anyway she dated black men all her life apparently she met this one white dude and they married after about a year.. Her personality is :trash:.. She stay tryin to shyt on me and stay bigging up her prized possession:mjpls:
