Cam'ron just doesn't make the kind of music that deserves any more accolades than he currently gets...

Dude just doesn't "heavy bars"...He used to be better, but he just dumbed down his lyrics to a collection of not so funny punchlines...

Dude was a successful "mixtape" rapper...He had a good run, and that's that...

First of all, someone like Fab is more of an accurate description of a successful "mixtape" rapper. Someone who gets more praise for his mixtapes than he does for his albums and is still somewhat relevant based off that.

If Cam mostly only went hard on his mixtapes, I'd agree.. but that's not the case, at all.

Yeah, over time he "watered" himself down, but its not like he went complete trash mode. He was still rapping better than a lot of rappers did/do at their peak.

Plus he's one of the most influential in terms of style of dress and slang.

Only dude I think gave him his props was Wiz Khalifa when in reality he's probably inspired 99% of this swag generation of rappers. The punchlines he laid down, his flow, his hustle is something to be admired. Dude was the prototype of the modern day rapper.

Yeah, when Cam'Ron hit rock bottom, he breathed life back into his career by introducing the concept of movements.

Dip Set era was original, and everyone is copying this and you can tell where all the slang and charisma is coming from.

Based on this criteria, Master P, Juvenile, and ODB should be mentioned amongst the greats too. Rarely if ever are any of the three mentioned. I think Cam's far more of a lyricist than P or Juve, but they get clowned for being lyrically "deficient".
