Maybe do some research into serial rapists and killers. They always target people that no one respects because they can get their practice there. Then everyone freaks out and gets outraged when they graduate to "respectable" women who are seen as true victims. But if folks had stopped them and held them accountable when they were targeting the freaks, then the "respectable" women victims wouldn't have been victims. 8 out of 10 of the documentaries on serial killers and rapists show this pattern where they kill prostitutes, and no one cares, and then all of a sudden they kill someone's innocent sister or mom and now everyone is asking "how was he allowed to do this for so long?". Wash and repeat.
